BSNL revises data tariff for 2G customers

State run telecom PSU, BSNL has once again revised its data (GPRS/EDGE) tariff for 2G prepaid & postpaid data card and voice plan customers. With this revision BSNL has tried to make its plans more attractive by enhancing the free usage limit.

The above tariff will get implemented from 01.06.2011. Very recently BSNL had increased data charges for 2G & 3G services from 1p/KB to 2P/KB.

IDEA 3G Services Now In Maharashtra – Goa and UP West

India’s 3rd largest GSM Mobile Service operator IDEA Cellular launched its 3G Mobile and Data services in two more circles Maharashtra & Goa and Uttar Pradesh (West).

After Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana,Maharashtra & Goa and Uttar Pradesh (West) are the 5th and 6th telecom circle out of in 11 circles to get IDEA 3G services.

With this launch of 3G services , IDEA subscribers in Pune, Agra, Meerut, Dehradun, Muzzafarnagar, Saharanpur, Roorkee, Rudrapur, Kashipur andHaridwar now can enjoy rich multimedia application such as Video conferencing, Idea mall application store, Mobile TV,Video on demand and High speed Mobile Broadband with ease.

To activate the 3G service, IDEA Mobile subscribers need to send SMS ACT3G to 12345 (toll free) or by dialing *147# (toll free) after sending the SMS the confirmation SMS will come and 2G Data Plan will be de-activated after the confirmation by subscriber 3G Data Plan “Pay As You Go” will be activated.he 3G local, STD and Roaming Video Call cost will be 5 paisa/sec (Rs.3/minute).

Idea Cellular 3G tariff plans

IDEA Cellular has launched  its 3G services in MP & Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh circles today. Right now the service is available in only one city in each circle. These cities are Indore (MP circle),  Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) & Ahmedabad (Gujarat). In these cities ,Idea customers can activate 3G by sending  SMS ACT3G to 12345 (toll free). On activation an  SMS will confirm the activation of 3G service.
Idea cellular 3G tariff plans are categorized based on various customer segment needs. These plans are Sachet Based (for short validity), Usage based , Time based & for Dongle.

BSNL

While  it did not participate in the 3G auction ( as its a India Govt   undertaken company), it provide 3 G services to all the circles in   India. Its the only operator with nation wide 3G spectrum allotted.

Bharti Airtel

Airtel  has got 3G spectrums in 13 circles m which include  Delhi,  Mumbai,  Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (West),  Rajasthan,  West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, North East,  Jammu &  Kashmir.

It  has 3G spectrum allotted  in this circles  Andhra Pradesh,  Karnataka,  Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, Kerala, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh (East),  West Bengal,  Bihar, Orissa, Assam, North East and Jammu & Kashmir

Idea Cellular

Has  won 3G spectrum in 11 circles which include Maharashtra, Gujarat,   Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (E), Uttar   Pradesh (W), Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir

Vodafone
Has  spectrum in 9 circles which includes Delhi, Mumbai, Maharashtra,   Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, Haryana, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh   (East)

Tata Teleservices ( Tata Docomo)

New  player Docomo has  got alloted 3G spectrum in 9 circles which  include   Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Haryana,  Uttar Pradesh  (West), Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh

S-Tel

S-Tel won spectrum in 3 Circle -Himachal Pradesh, Bihar and Orissa

MTNL

As its also a govt controlled company it has been allotted 3G spectrum in two circles including Delhi and Mumbai

Telecom News : Airtel 3G Service Launched In Mumbai

Airtel 3G is now available in Mumbai. Mumbai now joins the group of 8  cities in India where Airtel provides 3G service. The other 8 cities are  Delhi NCR, Jaipur, Udipi, Manipal, Mysore, Coimbatore, Chennai, and  Bengaluru. Airtel plans to provide 3G service to 13 major cities by the  end of March.
